Apple Inc. logo & Trademarked domain issue
Salam & hello to all my dearest reader, today I would like to share two story that related to the law infringement. For me, I still think that we can do anything we want in the internet but I’m wrong because the world wide web have it’s own lawsuit to protect other people or any organization identity, product, interest and so on. So what happen recently, Apple Inc. legal team forced Victoria School of Business and Technology to change its logo because it looks similar with their logo. It shows that we cannot simply use other people logo commercially.

By the way, many of us (me included) that we cannot simply search and grab any good domain that can be cateqorized as premium domain when we found it available. According to one article that I read at Nolo.com, there are few basic things that we need to understand.
- Names that identify the source of products or services in the marketplace are trademarks.
- Trademarks that are clever, memorable or suggestive are protected under federal and state law.
- Trademarks that are descriptive and have achieved distinction through sales and advertising can be protected under federal and state law.
- One trademark legally conflicts with another when the use of both trademarks is likely to confuse customers about the products or services, or their source.
- In case of a legal conflict with a later user, the first commercial user of a trademark owns it.
- If a legal conflict is found to exist, the later user will probably have to stop using the mark and may even have to pay the trademark owner damages.
- Refer to this article if you want to know more How to choose a domain name and stay out of trouble.
Morale of the story, make a research, analyze and identify which domain is safe to buy and less risk to receive an email from their lawyer.
