Just drop by at Ummu Ilham’s blog and read about Hana Tajima. I thought she is a japanese celebrity, actress or singer but actually she is a fashion designer and the person behind MaySaa line.

Her full name Hana Tajima Simpson which are Tajima for the Japanese daddy, Simpson for the English Mum and Hana the Japanese, became amuslim about four years ago. Check out how Hana Tajima express her creativity in urban muslimah fashion.

a bit rough, but true.
WE should guide her, not blame her. since she herself doesnt know much bout Islam.

She’s beautiful but there’s no such thing as urban muslim. there’s just no such thing.
it’s like she put some abstract art by wearing scarf
i though she’s only a malaysian student whom study oversea….hahha

she’s really great..bring a new style for muslim women yet still modest n pretty
if its still cover the aurah…its not prohibited
but,not making scarf or hijab as only the style.
btw,gudluck hana tajima~proud to be a Musleem..
Some like it elegant, some like it cute, some like it simple. Fashion differs from one mind to another. Honestly, I don’t find anything wrong with associating fashion with anything, and even religion for that matter. In fact, fashion for Muslimah is an already established category in itself, with various sub-categories branching out of it:
Example: Indonesian Busana Muslimah style, Brunei tudung style, Wardina tudung style, Indian-Muslim style, etc.
A good place for you to witness all these Islam-compliant fashion would be in the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) where you can see a plethora of Muslimah couture in action. And if you can accept these fashion as OK, why can’t you accept the another one then?
Has this new-age, uber-hijabi style cross the line? NO. As long as they are within the ambit of Islamic dressing guidelines, it’s still halal, kosher or whatever name you might wanna call it. Give them some room to exercise their creativity or else, I am tempted to think that you are just jealous of their beauty.
wow.. thank God that she embrace Islam and like to revolutionize Islamic fashion..
lol meleis asal org masuk islam jak happy bkn main padahal sendiri solat pun xpernah..

to “WanitaTercantikDiDunia”,
yes it’s not wrong to apply creativity or associating fashion with religion, but as you yourself said, it Has to be in compliance with the Islamic dressing guidelines. so yea, obviously, what she has brought up is Not within the acceptable specs.

Assalamu alaykum! Sisters! We must fear Allah! Fashion and Islam are absolutely different things! Did Aisha or Hadidja or other first muslim woman wear hijab that way?!!! Millions of people see her beatiful face and legs that are aurat. And among those million are lots of men, who can not control their emotions like insane. And making such events is assimilation with non-muslim people. Do they non-muslim world assilimilate with muslim world??? NO! Contrary they want to destroy our muslim foundation.
Apaan sih lo lebay. Santai aja kali. appreciate dia dong, jangan mentang2 lo pake jilbab gede terus ngerasa superior drpda yg pake hijab nya lebih modis. inget islam itu peace, jgn lgsg nge cap non muslim itu dkit2 mau destroy kita, world peace men. oh god, you are such a killjoy.
