According to some leaked documents, the top of the line Mahindra XUV300 is likely to lose some key security features with the next update. The XUV300 is one of the most feature-rich compact SUVs in the segment. It also boasts of a comprehensive 5-star GNCAP safety rating. This is in part due to the solid construction and the modern safety kit on board. It is the only compact SUV with 7 airbags in the top trim. However, that could be about to change very soon. The XUV300 will also come very soon with the new 1.2-liter directional injection turbo petrol engine from Mahindra’s own mStallion family. This engine will produce 130 hp and 230 Nm of peak power and torque. Let’s talk about feature removal first.

Mahindra XUV300 – Removed Security Features

This brochure indicates the items that will likely be removed in newer models of the XUV300. To start with, there will now be 6 airbags instead of 7 in the top trim W8 (O). However, it should be noted that this will in no way affect the safety rating of the SUV since the GNCAP tests the basic versions of the vehicle which only has 2 airbags. Second, the second row sealed seat belt reminder system will also be unavailable with the new model. Another practical function of the keyless entry on the passenger side will be deleted. You will also not find the rear fog lights on your new XUV300 in the original settings. However, it could be added as an accessory if desired.
