Silversun Pickups are back with their sixth album, physical feelingsreleased on August 19 via their New Machine Recordings label.
“This record is alive,” singer Brian Aubert said in a statement. “He is somewhere between a collection of songs and an imaginary friend. A friend who, from March 2020 to April 2021, would not only introduce themselves to me, but would keep me company during this time of intense isolation. A friend who would remind me that in this case, the whole world also felt the same way.
Written and recorded during the pandemic, the album includes new single “Scared Together,” which explores how one can bond with people through fear. Check out the clip directed by Claire Marie Vogel below.
Speaking of the track, Aubert said, “You never know what can bring two people together. Sometimes it’s something light and comfortable. Sometimes it’s a shared love of some kind of totem or idol that is cherished. Other times it’s something a little more awful. But whatever works, I say. To each his own. This song is about getting close and intimate with someone through hardship. Being thrown into something quite scary brings out some common qualities that connect them.
