The Soft Moon Drop’s New Song ‘Become The Lies’

The Soft Moon aka Luis Vasquez gives us another taste of his upcoming album, To existwith the new song “Become the Lies”.

The contagious track may be enough to get you moving, as Vasquez does in the video directed by Wiggy & Nick Blanco, but it deals with family trauma.

Vasquez explains, “I had an identity crisis after discovering dark secrets about my family’s past. It happened while I was writing the album and it destroyed me.

“Become The Lies” expresses how wrong everything I thought I knew about my life was. Lies, shame and guilt have been a recurring theme in my music. I explored it in ‘Criminal’, but during the process of writing ‘Exist’ I became more self-aware and finally realized that I was never the liar in the story. . I wanted to dance in the video to contrast with the lack of control I felt over my life at the time. It’s my way of getting rid of bad things. It’s also an escape from the seriousness of this song.

Watch the video below.

“Become the Lies” follows the previously released single “HIM”. Both will be released on The Soft Moon’s new album. To exist out September 23 via Sacred Bones.
