Unexpected entry takes UK Christmas number 1 seriously

Although Santa’s favorite singer is Elf-is Presley, it looks like an unexpected entry is making a serious push for UK Christmas number one this year.

British comedy duo Adam Rowe and Dan Nightingale quickly gained popularity with their podcast Have a word-pod and are now, incredibly, set to claim the coveted title, based on the pre-order numbers of their new single – Laura’s Gone.

Paddy Power currently has it at 8/1 alongside the likes of Elton John and Ed Sheeran (10/11) and Adele (12/1), with LadBaby at 4/5 – while Bet365 has the single at 7/1.

All talk of their single is expected to go to Charity and the song will feature Finnlay K, who is the podcast’s assistant producer.

While you won’t be able to listen to the song yet, the pre-order is slated for December 17, 2021.

Fans of the show seem to be absolutely ecstatic with the news.

One user tweeted: “I keep cracking up thinking of Elton, Ed and Adele looking at the odds of not knowing who the Pod / Lid Army is.”

“Already done boys,” someone else wrote.

A third added: “I have pre-ordered from all the Amazon accounts I have.”

Many also seemed to be looking forward to releases.

Another commented: “The blooper for this must have been hilarious. “

“Please tell me there is some nonsense for this,” commented one end user.

The comedy duo have called their show “the funniest podcast in the game” and its popularity is growing rapidly.

Their description on YouTube reads: “British comedians Adam Rowe and Dan Nightingale talk s *** e and tell stories with a lot of interaction with listeners.”

Their guest host introduced personalities such as Jimmy Carr, Russell Kane and Stephen Tries.

As you know, LadBaby, who has racked up two straight Christmas No.1s in 2019 and 2020, will be tough to move as he will be looking for a hat trick of hits.

YouTuber and blogger (Mark Hoyle) also arranged for the results of his hits to be donated to charity.
