After a string of disappointments, the UK is looking to turn the tide at Eurovision this year with a song by Tik Tok star Sam Ryder.

His song ‘SPACE MAN’ was selected as the UK’s entry to the 2022 songwriting competition. Our previous two entries, Michael Rice’s ‘Bigger Than Us’ and James Newman’s ‘Embers’, saw us complete in 2019 and 2021 (the competition did not take place in 2020).

Music company Tap Management (the team behind Dua Lipa, Ellie Goulding, Lana Del Rey and Hailee Steinfeld) have been brought in to find a new entry this year in hopes of improving the UK result. On the official BBC Eurovision BlogTap Music co-founders Ben Mawson and Ed Millett said: “The Eurovision Song Contest is truly a cultural phenomenon and an incredible opportunity – with 200 million viewers – for the right performer.”
